Fear has a way of gripping us and holding us hostage. In fact, quite often it makes us unable to function and operate in an effective and efficient way. Truth is what sets us free.
The Bible tells us that we will know the truth and truth will set us free. God’s truth sets us free and when we are set free by God, we are free indeed. Before we can claim wisdom in any matter, we must realize that we are actually foolish. Before we can be empowered for any type of service or situation in life, we must realize that in and of ourselves, we are powerless. We must know how to mourn and be broken before we can stand in the presence of a Holy God. When we learn from being broken, we can then learn how to rejoice. Weeping always comes before great celebration and victory.
Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves us who has a contrite spirit.” God works in our lives through the many ways we are broken to bring about his joy and peace. As God said in His Word, “Hold on, joy comes in the morning, weeping only lasts for a short time.” As you live out of your brokenness, then and only then can you minister to the hurts and needs of others. Being broken gives us a sense of dependency on God. The brokenness calls on us to trust God and hold on to His hand and never let go. Then we can say with assurance, “He will never leave us or forsake us.” Help someone today out of the broken heart that God has given you for the world.
