Our vision is to see the members of our church, the city of Greensboro, and the globe, transformed by the Gospel, and set on fire to take the Gospel to their neighbors, their family and the nations.
Lawrence has been in full-time ministry for almost 40 years. The North Carolina native, son of a pastor answered the call to ministry while in grade school. He attended Gardner-Webb University. After undergrad he went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he got his masters and his Doctorate. Lawrence met his wife Jenny while he was a pastor in Asheville and she was doing summer missions. He moved to S. Elm in January of 1985. He serves on the Board of Directors at the North Carolina Baptist State Convention and sits on the executive committee.
Lawrence has two daughters who are both married and is a grandpa to a brand new baby. He is a Christmas fanatic and known to many as Mr. Christmas. Lawrence loves playing golf, mowing the yard, watching Andy Griffith, football and Duke basketball.

Zach grew up in Greensboro and graduated from Western Guilford High School. He earned his Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Liberty University, where he met his wife Abby. After being called to youth ministry Zach began serving in many different roles with youth groups. He came to South Elm with vast experience in leading bible studies and small groups, coordinating mission trips and leading Youth Ministries in varying capacities.
Along with doing ministry and helping people to take hold of their faith, Zach enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is a musician who enjoys playing the piano, playing the guitar and listening to music including his favorite band is Casting Crowns. Zach loves the outdoors, spending time at the lake, riding the boat and water skiing. Zach loves to watch movies of all sorts and to eat a good meal with family and friends.

Jamie grew up in North Carolina and got her Bachelors in Sociology at Wingate University before getting her Masters at Southeastern Theological Seminary. She came to South Elm with a strong background working with children through the Yadkin County Schools as an online classroom facilitator and a Pre-K teacher assistant. Jamie was a volunteer coordinator through AmeriCorps. She has served previously as Interim Youth Director and Sunday School Director at Enon Baptist Church.
Jamie enjoys traveling, photography and trying something new. She loves playing with her niece and nephew and spending time with family.

Chad has been at South Elm for 18 years. He first came as a college student when he attended UNCG. He soon got plugged in and began serving in our church. Chad has been on staff at S. Elm for 17 years. Throughout his tenure he has played a vital role in our ministry through music, discipleship and serving our community.
Chad met his wife Melissa through our church and they have three beautiful children. He loves spending his free time with his family, traveling, watching his kids play sports and the occasional game of golf.

Bonnie is an accomplished executive assistant offering over 20 years of experience. She serves our church as our office administrator and she is often the first voice you will hear when you call the church office. Bonnie plays a critical role on our ministry team interacting with members of the community on our behalf and making sure things run smoothly.
Bonnie and her husband Wayne have two children, Andrew and Amber. She loves spending time with her family and serving her community. Bonnie is an active member at her church.

Alicia attended Gardner-Webb University and earned a degree in psychology before going on to UNCG to get a Masters in School Counseling. She worked as a high school counselor for 13 years. She serves S. Elm as our counselor for our members and people in our community. In addition to serving on our ministry team she is a facilitator with the University of North Carolina’s Teamquest department, an outdoor experimental learning campus and she is founder and CEO of The Oaks Therapeutic Community, Inc.
Alicia is married to Eric and they have two children. She enjoys anything outside with friends and family, traveling, Bible studies, roller coasters, bungee jumping and reading. Alicia loves helping people realize how valuable they are to God.
