Family Night at Christmas

Sunday, December 23

This year we are designating Sunday evening, December 23rd, as Family Night at Christmas. We are not having an evening worship service at the church on this particular evening. Instead, we are asking that every family spend this time together as a family.

It is our desire that you will spend this time as a family with no interruptions. This should be a time that begins with prayer and thanksgiving. Plan a meal together, and as you have the meal, each person can share something they are thankful for and then before you finish the time of thanksgiving and the meal, read the Christmas story from Luke 2:1- 20. Certainly this can be a powerful time of praise and thanksgiving.

This can be a great time to minister to your neighbors. After the meal, you can write a note of thanks to your neighbors, or put together a Christmas greeting, make an ornament and have a time of prayer for your neighbors. You may choose to bake cookies and deliver them to your neighbors. Determine how your family will let those whom you have prayed for know that you have prayed for them during this Christmas season.

As you share with your neighbors, remember our task is to share The Story of Christmas, the story of God's life-changing grace with others. We can share and live out the peace and hope found in Jesus Christ.
